Mefore Aday opened the new THRU Gallery last March
Washington-based artist Mary Aday changed her first name to represent her mission as an artist. The work she puts out reflects an unusual perspective, putting you in her shoes in a way. She sees the grotesque in reality but never without humor and innocence. She grew up in Mississippi, escaping to the Oregon coast, working and living for nearly a decade. In 2015, she relocated with her husband to White Salmon, Washington, where she now works full-time as an artist.
To learn more about the artist, please read her profile written by THRU’s Kathleen Dolan. The images below document her show at the THRU Gallery in Northwest Portland. Enjoy.
